Amethyst is a violet variety of quartz stone and is the traditional birthstone for February.
Each stone is unique and their natural color will vary. The stones have a translucent, violet color. Due to the stones being translucent the metal that surrounds the stone does impact the overall color of the earrings. The sterling silver makes the stone look a cooler purple tint while the gold fill makes it have a warm pink tint.
